I'm a game designer, artist, Game Maker Studio programmer (the typey kind, not the drag-n-drop kind), and enthusiast of awesome art, music, and games.
As a child of the 1980's I fell in love with video games with a strong nostalgia for the NES, SNES, and Playstation consoles. Early on I knew I wanted to be an artist, but in 1999 when I bought my first computer and fell in love with Photoshop, Illustrator, and various 3D modeling packages, and in college I learned for the first time what game design actually was (not a well known or discussed topic prior to 2002) and discovered a sub-passion for programming; Not a passion I would pursue outright, but dabble in as a hobbyist from time to time. I began my career in the video game industry as an artist and designer after graduating from Cogswell Polytechnical College in 2005 and worked in the (then dying) arcade companies UltraCade Technologies and Global VR.After that
In 2009 I started working at WayForward as a Director and I have had the good fortune to lead titles such as DuckTales Remastered, Thor God of Thunder, Galactic Taz-Ball, Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition, and more. In my spare time I enjoy painting large scale acrylic pixel paintings featuring classis SNES characters. And since late 2013 I started developing my own independent games in my spare time (usually weekends and weeknights between the hours of 10 PM and 2 AM.) All of my games are made in Game Maker Studio, and I have published games on Apple's App Store, Google Play, Amazon Apps, and Ouya. I have also participated in the Ludum Dare and Fantastic Arcade "Barfcade" game jams, and plan on doing more in the future. Each of the small games I have made to date are like a small step towards some lofty goals I have for myself in 2015 and beyond to hopefully create a grander game experience for PC and console.
